I decided to paint my dream... so this is really where I wished I could travel.... the dream Orient Express... I would start in Istanbul and travel where ever the train went... So I have produced three paintings on this subject. ‘Istanbul’ is in the Orient Express Restaurant in Istanbul, then ‘Glass’ is on the train, and ‘The platform ticket’ is the person waiting at the other end.”

Jan 2015 Tanya is one of the 36 Finalist picked for Russia’s international The Golden Turtle Wildlife Festival.
The Golden Turtle includes various creative competitions aimed at identifying the best works and projects demonstrating the beauty and harmony of wild nature. Festival wildlife «Golden Turtle» representing the best works submitted to the contest, as well as other projects aimed at preserving wildlife annually held in Moscow. After completion of the Moscow Festival of competition are sent to an exhibition tour in Russia and other countries.
“The best part about this tour for me is that the painting is going to Oklahoma,” says Tanya. “When I painted this I was listening to the audio book of ‘The Grapes of Wrath’, a sad story about a family from Oklahoma. In the end the family gets caught in a flood and the baby dies. At this point I started to cry as the same thing happened to this little Moorhen family from Bradford-on-Avon. The day after I saw this happy little scene they got washed away in one of the floods - so it’s a very sad painting,” she concludes.
Finalist in the Internal Artist Art Prize Challenge – Wildlife Art. To be shown in issue 99 of Internal Artist Magazine in Oct/Nov 2014.
The painting that made it was Mermaids, a painting of a Manatee mother and calf.
